Childrens book

We've both been obsessed with children's books ever since we can remember. (Abbigail even more so than me) So naturally the day would come when we would just have to make our own.  So, here you go!  These are the characters for our upcoming children's book!  Untitled thus far.

Seance Party

Nothing much (in terms of the supernatural) really happened last night, except for maybe a few unexplained noises here and there.   None the less, we had a great time trying to freak ourselves out!  We decked out the store with fancy curtains and put candles everywhere.  Abbigail made some excellent punch too, with a little help from her Mama's magic recipe!
After the séance we divided the party-goers in half and did a sort of relay race that Abbigail read about in an old activity book.  The person at the end of each line had to put on a big outfit over top of their clothes and take it off as fast as humanly possible, then pass the outfit on to the person next in line.  The first team done wins.  (me and Abbigail totally dominated! haha)  We're thinkin next time we might have a tea party and play kickball in the park since it's getting to be nicer outside.

Howdy Hey

                                                    I made a new bag!
We found this puppy! So so cute! He looked a lot like my dad's dog, Cujo, so I was instantly smitten.  A lady who works at the Humane Society is currently fostering him. He is the fifth animal we have come across since we opened the store in June. We miss him, but no pets allowed in our apartment or our life at this time.
For Trashy Thriftastic Thursday: THE DINOSAUR COUCH!!! Found in the trash, it is beyond awesome. Everyone who comes to visit the store gets to sit on this throne. It is truly beloved.
We are also often found among the trash.

Sellin' Stuff Oh Yeah!!

Today, we sold art at The Black Feather Cafe in Berea, Kentucky. It was great!!! We did pretty dang good, if I do say so, myself.  We were very pleased with how our set up turned out, and had a very good time. Plus, we ate some awesome food!!! Thank you, friends, for letting us set up!

Trashy Thriftastic Thursdays are coming soon!!!

Trashy Thriftastic Thursdays are something I am going to start doing here on the blog! Every Thursday, I will be posting things we have thrifted(or flea marketed) and found in the trash in the past! These will be things that are in our own apartment, so they are the most awesome basically! I realize today is not Thursday, but I am excited so I want to start today! The picture up above is a recent thrift find for two dollars and fifty cents!!! I got another one for even less! I love them very very much, and to my surprise Billy likes them too! Mama, do you remember my other disney picture I have had since I was little? It's in the kitchen with these two. They are super amazing.

Billy and I found this awesome toy music television in a bunch of super choice trash on the side of the road! I am talking dollhouse, doll furniture, old books, super old Mcdonald's toys! Astounding!!  This even works! One night it came on by itself though...creepy....
Check out this beauty!!! Practical and magical!!! We try to very very rarely use paper towels, so a roll will sit for months on this spectacular thing. It is truly dazzlin' haha. Lindsey, I think you would appreciate this post!!!

"Monsters in Love" shirt

Over 16 hours of non-stop carving on this bad boy!  We couldn't be happier with the results! Now hopefully people will buy em so we can make more!

Good things that happened this week! Also known as: things that will be blogged about soon!

1. We thrifted a few awesome things which I will blog about soon.
2. Billy sold two prints and a t-shirt!
3. We watched Son-in-Law haha
4. My friend Eric brought us Taco Bell! How nice!
5. Our friend Jennifer and her husband gave us a desk for our apartment. That made us happy, but the next part didn't. As Billy and I were trying to haul it upstairs it caught on something and just fell apart, a big chunk hitting Billy right in the middle of the foot. It was a tragedy, but the giving of it made us happy.

6. We went to the flea market with our friends Ashley and Turtle and we stayed within our three dollar limit!!! That was a miracle!
7. I left ice cream sundaes on the frigid door step of our friend! I still don't know if she got them though! I hope so.
8. Billy made two new t-shirt designs! They are awesome!
9. I went to the grocery and bought so much that I hope I won't have to go for two weeks! Doesn't that sound nice? No grocery shopping for two weeks!!
10. The kitchen is decorated!!

P.s. These photos have nothing to do with this post. They are just old photos that make me happy!

Chalky!

This little project has been on the back burner for quite some time now and I'm really happy to finally have it finished!  Originally I was gonna make it a standee but thought this would be a more useful application, what with festivals coming up and all.  Long live Chalky!

He's made out of Masonite, (the top of an old ping pong table) and a 2 dollar chalk board easel from Salvation Army.  I used a super strong "industrial strength" Velcro to fasten the hands to the chalk board, and also the head to the torso.  Velcro is my new love!  Don't tell Abbigail :^)

Makin' Things again

I haven't made anything in a long time, but I have been cracking down on my sewing lately. I definitely missed it. I have a lot of ideas, and I hope I can bust them  all out. Expect to see lots of UFOs, castles, cyclops, space cats, and chomping teeth. I don't know if these are my latest obsessions or just things I thought would sell on a bag. Maybe a little of both, who doesn't like a cat in space?

Proposal

On my 27th birthday back in December, Billy Joe asked me to marry him and it was awesome! At midnight, he took me to my favourite place in all of Richmond: the recycling center!! I was thinking that he had probably made me a happy birthday banner, but I didn't see one when we pulled up. He started lifting up garbage can lids and these beautiful handmade signs were inside! It was the most wonderful night!!! I got a ring, a fiance, and two cakes! Dang!!

Yay Shirts!

We're so happy to finally have our own shirts made! The words on this design are intended to be backwards so that when you look at your reflection they seem normal.  We're thinking there will be more lino cut prints in the future since this has proven to be fun, and quickly rewarding!
